More prison time for the disgraced former President Park Geun-hye.
The Seoul Central District Court sentenced the former leader Park to 8 years in prison for taking off-book funds from the country's intelligence agency and interfering in the 2016 general elections during her administration.
The court also fined Park 2-point-9 million U.S. dollars on charges of taking state agency funds.
With that,... the former leader is now facing a total of 32-years behind bars,...
as she had already received a 24-year sentence for her role in the influence peddling scandal.
In another trial on Friday morning,... prosecutors requested for Park's 24-year sentence to be lengthened to 30-years and her fine be increased to 104-million dollars. The appeals court will rule on that request next month.
