With both countries locked in an increasingly bitter trade spat with the United States,… Germany and China have stressed their commitment to pursue multilateralism in trade.
Speaking during a joint news conference after meeting in Berlin on Monday,... German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said,.... fighting protectionism is necessary in the pursuit of free trade.
The two countries also agreed to stick to World Trade Organization rules.
The show of unity comes just a matter of days after the Trump administration imposed..... 25 percent tariffs on 34-billion U.S. dollars worth of Chinese goods.
During the meeting,... the two countries also signed commercial deals worth more than 20-billion dollars.... and agreed to open their domestic markets for foreign investors.
