Korean households don't have as much capital as they used to.
Mainly because they were focused on buying homes.
According to the nation's central bank, households' net capital, or their assets minus loans, was about 17 billion U.S. dollars... in the Q1.
That figure is half a billion more than the previous quarter,... but it's the second lowest figure for the first quarter since statistics were first compiled in 2009.
Experts attribute the plunge to people aggressively exhausting their capital to buy real estate.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said around 200 thousand homes changed hands in the first three months of the year, the highest first-quarter figure since 2009.
