This is the moment two men try desperately to keep the gate to their village in Vietnam closed after flash flooding.

Footage filmed on June 24 in a village in Lai Chau province shows the two men trying to secure the gate as water flows around them.

After their efforts prove fruitless, they abandon the gate and evacuate.

Ten people were injured in the flood and dozens of houses were destroyed.
