Colorado's 416 Fire Grows by 2,000 Acres in One Day

The 416 fire grew to 7,180 acres in Durango, Colorado, and was 10-percent contained by late evening on June 7, according to a map released by the San Juan National Forest Service.The fire had previously covered 5,100 acres by Thursday morning. More than 1,000 homes have been evacuated due to the fire, and more than 1,500 residents were notified of a possible evacuation as of June 8, according to local news reports.
