Sawmill Fire Grows to 18,000 Acres, Windy Conditions Ground Air Tankers

The Sawmill fire burning in southern Arizona grew to between 18,000 and 20,000 acres on Tuesday, April 25. The wildfire was burning roughly 40 miles south of Tucson, reported Tucson News Now,. Due to high winds the air tankers have been grounded.An estimated 100 residents have been evacuated in the area near the blaze, with additional homes were issued voluntary evacuation notices. Roads were closed, but no structures were threatened at time of writing. The fire was likely caused by humans, according to officials.
