More than a dozen helicopters and nine air tankers were attempting to contain the 48,000-acre Detwiler fire in Mariposa County, CAL FIRE reported on July 19.The fire, which is only 7 percent contained, has already prompted thousands of people to evacuate their homes, and threatened to cut off electricity in areas as far away as Yosemite Valley.
