Local elections took place in the UK on Friday,... and for the first time two British Koreans have been elected as councilors.
Ms. Bora Kwon won a seat for the main opposition Labour Party at the Ravenscourt Park ward for the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
And Mr. Ha Jae-sung won a seat for the ruling Conservative Party at the Beverley ward in London's Kingston-upon-Thames.
Ms. Kwon is an editor for the mobile news app Upday, and Mr. Ha is the President of the Korean Residents Society in London.
They are the first ever Koreans to have be elected into the British political system.
They will both serve four-year terms.
