Combined sales of Korean cars home and abroad up for first time in 2018

Combined sales of South Korean cars at home and abroad saw their first monthly rise so far this year.
Figures were released today by the nation's top five automakers.
Hyundai, Kia, General Motors Korea, Renault Samsung and Ssangyong... sold a combined total of almost 704-thousand vehicles in April... up-7-point-5 percent from last year.
134-thousand units were shifted domestically... for a rise of 1-point-1 percent, while overseas sales climbed 9-point-2 percent -- or almost 5-hundred-70 thousand units.
This overall increase comes despite one of giants: GM Korea... announcing a 21-point-5 percent dip in sales this month... following extensive restructuring.
Hyundai enjoyed the greatest sales spike.... over 11-percent... thanks to the popularity of its latest Sante Fe and Grandeur models.
