The Korean government has begun attempting to carry construction materials to the site of the THAAD anti-missile system in Seongju County, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, where local residents are protesting against the construction.
About a hundred local residents, as well as some civic group members who are against the THAAD deployment,... have been occupied the road to the site for the past few months,... blocking the entrance of government trucks.
Some three thousand police members have been placed starting from seven A.M. Thursday,... to try and give the trucks access to the site.
South Korea's defense ministry says the construction on the THAAD battery site is now an urgent matter.
