The two Koreas will meet on Tuesday to discuss the details of a performance by a South Korean performing squad in Pyongyang.
The South Korean delegation will be headed by a popular singer and composer,... who has been tapped for his experience of arranging pop music concerts.
Kim Hyo-sun reports. Yun Sang has been named as South Korea's music director for the performance team to visit North Korea.
Seoul's Unification Ministry added that the two Koreas will sit down on Tuesday to discuss the details of the performance to be held in Pyongyang.
While Yun is the first pop culture figure to lead a South Korean delegation to meet with North Korean counterparts,... the ministry explained he's most suitable candidate to prepare for a performance that will mainly feature South Korean pop music.
Yun, along with officials from Cheong Wa Dae and the Unification Ministry,... will meet with the North's delegation headed by Samjiyon Orchestra director Hyon Song-wol,... at the Tongilgak, a North Korean pavilion at the border village of Panmunjom.
The North invited Seoul's performance team and a taekwondo demonstration team to its capital city when South Korean presidential envoys visited Pyongyang earlier this month.
Both performances will likely be held in early April,... ahead of the landmark inter-Korean summit scheduled for later that month.
