Gov't to announce plans to tackle South Korea's high youth unemployment rate

The government will announce new measures today aimed at getting more young Koreans into high-quality jobs.
The finance ministry says it's considering granting allowances to young jobseekers and creating a supplementary budget, as well as giving companies that hire them tax breaks or subsidies.
The plan may include using the extra budget sometime during the first half of the year.
President Moon Jae-in's has called for *all-out efforts to create good jobs for young people,... calling the high youth jobless rate a national disaster.
The youth unemployment rate eased a touch in February,... but the figure sits at nine-point-eight percent.
