Bones found on Pacific island 'likely' belong to Amelia Earhart: researcher
  • 6 years ago
New light has been shed on what happened to famed pilot Amelia Earhart, who mysteriously disappeared off the radar during a flight in 1937.
A recent study by University of Tennessee professor Richard Jantz states that bones found on a Pacific island in 1940 were likely to be that of the aviation pioneer.
They were initially thought to have belonged to a man.
The latest revelation implies that Earhart may have survived her ill-fated final flight around the world and died as an island castaway.
