U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has arrived in Japan, where he will stop over before heading to South Korea on Thursday, in time for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
In Tokyo today, he's set to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe... where they are expected to talk about North Korea.
A joint press conference will be held afterwards, and they will likely issue a strong message to increase pressure on the regime.
Then on Thursday when he arrives in South Korea, Pence will meet with President Moon Jae-in.
Further discussions on North Korea are expected, before they head to PyeongChang on Friday, to attend the opening ceremony of the Games.
The Vice President has not ruled out the possibility of meeting with North Korean officials, but formal sit-down talks are considered unlikely.
