Two people have been killed in the U.S. state of South Carolina as an Amtrak passenger train collided with a parked freight train in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It was the third deadly wreck involving Amtrak in less than two months.
At least 116 people were said to be injured and the two killed were an engineer and a conductor.
The Silver Star was en route from New York to Miami with nearly 150 people aboard when it struck a CSX train carrying automobiles at an estimated 85 kilometers an hour. Investigators will try to find out how the Amtrak train ended up on the side track and if it was misdirected.
