Trump Insists 'No Collusion,' Calls Papadopoulos A 'Liar' In Tweets

President Trump lashed out on Tuesday following the announcement of indictments on Monday.

In the wake of the announcement of first charges resulting from special counsel Robert Mueller's 2016 election probe, President Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday and called George Papadopoulos a "low level volunteer" who has "proven to be a liar."
"Few people knew the young, low level volunteer named George, who has already proven to be a liar. Check the DEMS!" Trump tweeted.
According to Bloomberg, "Papadopoulos, who served as a foreign-policy adviser during Trump's campaign, pleaded guilty on Oct. 5 to lying to FBI investigators about his contacts with Russian operatives and is now cooperating with prosecutors."
Trump also distanced himself from his former campaign manager Paul Manafort in his tweets.
"The Fake News is working overtime," Trump wrote. "As Paul Manaforts lawyer said, there was 'no collusion' and events mentioned took place long before he came to the campaign."
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also attempted to shift the focus to Democrats while addressing Mueller's charges.
"Today's announcement has nothing to do with the President, has nothing to do with the President's campaign or campaign activity," Sanders told reporters during a press briefing on Tuesday. "The real collusion scandal, as we've said several times before, has everything to do with the Clinton campaign, Fusion GPS, and Russia."
