Powerful winds and driving rains pounded Cabo San Lucas on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, as Tropical Storm Lidia inched toward the coast on Thursday, August 31.Forecasters expected landfall later Thursday afternoon and said the storm would remain on the peninsula through Friday night, when a northwestern turn would take it back over the Pacific Ocean.
