Samsung crosses its fingers on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus

NEW YORK — After an explosive year, Samsung is back with the release of its latest flagship smartphone the Galaxy S8.

Too bad White House-size leaks gave the world plenty of sneak peeks, taking most of the thunder out of the NYC unboxing event.

The Galaxy S8 comes with a greatly enlarged 5.8-inch display, thanks to a shot of viagra. The S8 and S8 Plus both have the completely useless curved OLED display. In addition, Samsung decided to say annyeong to the physical home button.

The fingerprint scanner supports gesture recognition to open specific apps. The rear camera is staying at 12MP, but now comes equipped with laser autofocus. With the bigger displays, battery life is a concern. No word if the batteries come with the Note 7 option.

The S8 comes with its own completely original Siri personal assistant, sorry, we mean Bixby.

The S8 and S8 Plus are also super affordable at over $800 and $900 respectively.

Is this the iPhone-killer that Samsung hopes it will be? Are consumers ready to trust Samsung again?
