A tweet is believed to have prompted Donald Trump to make a noticeable change to his immigration speech on Wednesday.

As The Wall Street Journal reports, after the candidate arrived back in the U.S. from his meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, he found out about a tweet Nieto had posted.

Specifically, the message read in Spanish, “At the beginning of the conversation with Donald Trump, I made it clear Mexico will not pay for the wall.”

The Journal says that Trump perceived this move to be going against their agreement to avoid discussing the source of wall funding during the first meeting.

Subsequently, he made a last minute addition to his speech--the sentence where he said about Mexico, “They don’t know it yet but they’re going to pay for the wall.”

When asked about it the next day, Trump reportedly said, “I had no choice.”

The U.S. candidate reiterated his position in a tweet on Thursday, and Nieto responded by saying, in part, that “Mexico will never pay for a wall.”
