'I Agree With President Obama 100%': Trump Tweets Old Obama Video To Support Immigration Argument
  • 6 years ago
President Trump tweeted former President Obama's past remarks on Tuesday to support his views on immigration.

During his presidency, Donald Trump, when compared to former President Obama, has appeared to take an opposite view on most issues.
However, on Tuesday, to support his immigration argument, Trump re-surfaced Obama's remarks from an old video in a tweet and said he agreed with him.
"We are a generous and welcoming people here in the United States," then-Senator Obama can be heard saying in the video. "But those who entered the country illegally and those who employ them disrespect the rule of law and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law. We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country."
Next to the video, Trump wrote in his tweet: "I agree with President Obama 100%!"
Trump's post came as a large migrant caravan headed to the US-Mexico border.
Earlier in the week, Trump had tweeted: "Sadly, it looks like Mexico's Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!"
