Nicaragua’s northwestern Momotombo volcano has erupted for the first time in 110 years, spouting ash and lava. First signs of activity were seen on Tuesday, December 1, when Momotombo emitted gas and ash. This video, shot from an airplane, shows a plume of ash rising from the crater on Wednesday. It was shot by the guitarist of Californian rock band Gold Minor. Credit: YouTube/Gold Minor
