DAP today opened its annual national conference with guns trained at attempts to impose theocratic law in the country, in the absence of PAS' top leadership at the function. "Recently, more quarters are trying to introduce laws based on religion, this should not happen in a country of various races and faiths," said acting DAP chairperson Tan Kok Wai in his opening speech in Subang Jaya. PAS bigwigs were conspicuously absent, only sending its central committee member Hatta Ramli as representative to the conventon.
