Baltimore riots: Gangs unite to target police in riots following Freddie Gray death - TomoNews
  • 9 years ago
Baltimore gangs have agreed to a truce in order to unify their forces to "take out" law enforcement officers in the wake Freddie Gray's death.

The coalition of the Black Guerilla Family, Bloods, and Crips is concerning to cops everywhere. A memo from intelligence centers in the area suggest the gangs are specifically targeting white officers.

Cops are even being encouraged to tone down any gear such as clothes or badges that might identify them as police. There are also concerns that false service calls may be placed in order to draw officers into an ambush.

A minister from the Nation of Islam Carlos Muhammad has commended the gangs for being "united for a common good."

"The Bloods and the Crips can help rebuild their community," Muhammad told the Daily Beast.

Well the neighborhoods wouldn't need rebuilding if they weren't being plundered by hooligans in the first place.

It's hard to see anything positive resulting from these violent riots. The cops have their own issues, that's for sure. But Baltimore needs heroes within these communities to step up and spread some common sense.
