Suspect drags police officer with his car for about 20 feet - Caught on camera - TomoNews

Sheridan authorities are seeking 24-year-old Ismael Rayos after he drove off while with a police officer hanging on to his car early Sunday while escaping from police officers.

Police received a call about a suspicious car and person in front of a 7-Eleven on South Federal Boulevard. Rayos gave false information regarding his identity, and when officers determined who he was and attempted to arrest him, Rayos jumped back into the still running car.

One of the police officer got in the driver's door to try to get the suspect out, but was then dragged backwards for around 23 feet, when the suspect put the car in reverse and sped off.

The suspect later crashed his vehicle in Denver and escaped on foot. Police found a loaded .38 caliber handgun inside the car.

Police are offering a $2,000 reward for anyone that has information regarding the suspect. He is wanted for first degree assault, second degree assault and eluding.

The injured officer suffered scrapes, multiple contusions, and a sprained ankle.
