Dal Tadka - दाल तड़का - Punjabi Vegetarian Simple To Make Curry Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
1/4 कटोरी तुर दाल
1/2 कटोरी चने कि दाल
1 बारीक़ कटे पियाज़
1&1/2 बारीक़ कटे टमाटर
3-4 tbsp घी
1/4 tsp हल्दी पाउडर
धनिया पत्ता
2 बारीक़ कटी हरी मिर्च
1/2 tsp जीरा
1 दालचीनी
2 लॉन्ग
1/2 tspलाल मिर्च पाउडर
1/4 tsp हींग
1 & 1/2 tbsp बारीक़ कटे लहसुन
नमक
सुखी लाल मिर्च

METHOD:
- Take both the lentils, wash them thoroughly.
- Soak them for half an hour in 1 and half cup water.
- Pressure cook it for 3-4 whistles.
- Take 1 and half tbsp ghee, keeping the remaining for the tadka.
- Add the seasoning ingredients- cumin seeds, cloves and the cinnamon stick.
- Add onions, saute until translucent.
- Add tomatoes, green chillies,turmeric powder, red chilly powder.
- Pour in the dal and mix well.
- Add water if required.
- Add salt.
- Sprinkle coriander leaves.
- Let it simmer for 5-6 min.

TADKA-
- Heat the remaining ghee in a small pan.
- Add a whole dry red chilly, 1/4 tsp asafoetida and chopped garlic.
- Stir and pour it all over the dal.
