Clashes Erupt Between Kiev Police and Protesters

Clashes broke out in Kiev after large crowds of demonstrators rallied in Ukraine’s capital on January 19 against new anti-protest legislation. Ukraine’s current anti-government movement, involving protest camps in central Kiev, began in protest at President Viktor Yanukovych’s decision in November to renege on a landmark treaty with the EU.
