Boston Bombing Suspects Planned Attack on Fourth of July

The suspect Boston bombers were planning an attack on the Fourth of July, according to a report in the New York Times.

Dzhokhar Tsnarnaev, the sole surviving suspect told investigators, he and his brother, Tamerlan settled on home made explosives and pressure cooking bombs that they made in Tamerlan's Cambridge, Massachusetts apartment.

The Times reports the brothers finished their bomb making quicker than first thought so they decided to reschedule their attack.

As for how they selected the Boston marathon, the New York Times reports the brother drover around the Boston area randomly looking for alternative sites.
