Fresh Coconut Chutney - South Indian Condiment Recipe by Ruchi Bharani - Vegetarian [HD]
INGREDIENTS-
1 cup fresh grated coconut
1/2 cup split bengal gram (dariya dal)
salt
1 small piece ginger
2 green chillies
curry leaves
1/4 tsp. asafoetida (heeng)
1 tsp. white lentil (urad dal)
1/2 tsp. mustard seed powder
1 tbsp. oil
coconut water

METHOD-
- Grind split bengal gram, ginger and green chillies into a smooth powder.
- Add fresh grated coconut, salt and coconut water and grind well again. Add water if required.
- For tadka, heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds, white lentil once the oil is hot.
- Once the white lentil turns brown, add asafoetida (heeng) and curry leaves.
- Pour this tadka over the chutney.
