A sect of Muslims has been found living underground in an 8-story bunker in Russia without heat or sunlight. The Islamic group of about 70 members includes 20 children, and an 18 month old infant, many of whom have never seen the light of day. The Fayzarahmanist sect is named for their self-appointed leader, and is believed to have been living underground for nearly a decade. They are required to read his manuscripts, and most of the people who live there are banned from leaving the underground bunker. They have not been allowed to seek medical attention or get an outside education, which may be grounds for legal charges or disbanding of the sect, though no arrests have been made.

In other related news, Young Russian Muslims are more devout than the older generation, according to the results of a Pew Research Center survey. 48 percent of Russian Muslims between the ages of 18 and 34 said that Islam is a key part of their life, compared to 41 percent of those aged 35 and older that participated in the survey.
