Call for Iraq's Sunni and Shia to unite

Iraqi Shia leaders along with some Sunni political figures are calling for citizens to put aside their differences. They appeared on national television in a show of unity.

The head of the National Alliance, made up of mainly Shia parties, has rejected any kind of foreign intervention.

Meanwhile, as fighting approaches Kurdish territory, a regional minister says they are well-prepared.
