Birmingham headlines 8th Feb: Man arrested on suspicion of racial abuse at Blues V Baggies match
  • 3 months ago
A fifty year old man from Dudley has been arrested on suspicion of racially abusing Blues midfielder Juninho Bacuna during last weekends Birmingham City versus West Brom match. Police are urging anyone who may have seen anything in the Halfords Lane stand to help with their investigations.

Next - there have been calls for a public inquiry into the running of Birmingham City Council as it faces an enormous budget gap of at least three hundred million pounds. It comes as the city braces itself for a huge wave of cuts to local services, after the authority declared bankruptcy last September.

And finally - it might be at least two hours to the nearest beach but soon Brummies will get the chance to try out surfing at a brand new wave park planned for seven miles out of the city. The fifty million pound development in Coleshill is set to include a five point four acre man-made surfing lagoon.
