Wales headlines 26 January: Call’s for Welsh government to ditch Fujitsu contracts

government to cancel their contracts with Fujitsu. The Japanese company are responsible for the faulty software that brought on the issue, and have currently got numerous multi-million pound deals including with Transport for Wales.

Welsh Air Ambulance has said two of its sites may close, with their helicopters relocated to other sites in the North East of the country. Powys and Welshpool are both on the shortlist to be cut, but the charity clarified they will remain open until at least 2026. A final decision will be made in the next few weeks.

Monmouthshire County Council has officially reversed their decision made back in 2021 on English only signage in the area. They had planned to replace old signs without Welsh translations, but that was found to be in breach of the council’s agreed Welsh language standards.
