Trump's legal team appealed to the US Supreme Court to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court's ruling disqualifying him from the state's GOP primary ballot. The Colorado court ruled Trump engaged in insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021 and was thus ineligible under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Trump's team argues the ruling disenfranchises millions of voters in Colorado and sets a precedent to do the same nationwide. Trump has also been barred from the Maine primary ballot due to 14th Amendment challenges.
