California Man Files $1 Million Lawsuit Against Elon Musk for Defamation
  • 7 months ago
California man Benjamin Brody has filed a $1 million lawsuit against Elon Musk in Texas, alleging that Musk misrepresented him as a federal employee having attended a right-wing rally in Oregon City. The Proud Boys extremist group held a rally in Oregon City on the same day as its first Pride Night celebration. Videos show Proud Boys members violently clashing with and unmasking counter-protesters, including two members of the far-right Rose City Nationalists, one identified as Brody. After Brody asserted he was misidentified and provided evidence he was in California, Musk still implied Brody had attended the rally. Brody claims Musk's actions led to harassment against him and his family. He alleges Musk was notified of the defamation but refused to retract his statements.
