Right before the Covid-19 lockdown happened in Valencia, the city had big plans to turn the Plaza del Ayuntamiento into a huge pedestrian zone. Still busses and taxis and traffic of people who live in the center are allowed through but the vast majority of the center piece of the city was planned to be for the people of Valencia and its visitors.

All the constructions were put on hold until the officials deescalated the lockdown and the machines rolled into the square. It has been a lot of work but hopefully they can finalize the work soon, so I can go film the final results of the new Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
