We wished that we had more time to explore the area in Axim and to have a few more days just to relax at the Ankobra Beach Resort:

That said, on our first and only morning in Axim we got up early and walked along the beach to get to Axim. Beautiful sandy beaches and coconut trees as far you can see.

Once we arrived in town, walked right through the center of Axim and went straight to the Axim Castle. The last slave trade castle we visited during our time in Ghana. And after visiting Cape Coast, we can tell you... skip the castle there and go to Axim or Elmina. The Cape Coast Castle is overrun with visitors and seems stressful and pleasant.
