Wales headlines 31 July: Pair jailed for building drugs lab, Clive Rowlands dies, Wales squarely beaten by world champions

Two men have been sentenced to over 6 years combined in prison after being found in the process of building a chemical drugs lab. David Tyrell 53 and David Allsopp 62 were stopped in Butetown, with a toolbox full of 28kg of drugs, receipts for a hydraulic press and instructions on manufacturing amphetamines.

Welsh rugby legend Clive Rowlands has died, aged 85. He coached the side to a famous grand slam in the 6 nations in 1971, and has held roles as captain, manager and welsh rugby union president in his time in the sport. Top Cat, as he was known will go down as one of the most influential figures in Welsh rugby.

Wales lost their first game of the second group stage in the netball World Cup, and face a nigh on impossible task of progressing to the semi finals in South Africa. Wales were outclassed by reigning world champions New Zealand 83 to 34, but with 2 games left, Wales could still climb the rankings.
