Birmingham headlines 3 July: Man dies after hit-and-run in Washwood Heath
Police are investigating the death of a man following a hit and run collision. It’s believed he was struck at around 2am on Washwood Heath Road near the junction with Bennetts Road on Saturday. He was confirmed dead by paramedics at the scene just before 3am.

A disqualified driver who was caught with more than £1 million of cocaine after being stopped by officers has been jailed. Sukhchain Dale pleaded guilty to possession of drugs with intent to supply, and disqualified driving, and was jailed for seven years and four months at Birmingham Crown Court.

The latest data from the UK House Price Index have shown the areas in Birmingham where house prices have plummeted. At the top is Summerfield where prices have fallen from 48.4%. Following that is Five Ways North and Birchfield West.
