Violent scenes broke out in Ely on Monday evening as up to 150 people descended on the area to riot after two teenagers were killed in a crash. Residents in the area say it was like a war zone as cars were destroyed and fireworks were thrown at police in a stand off between officers and rioters.

A man has been charged with murder after a body was discovered at a property in the Clase area of Swansea on Saturday Morning. 38 year old Darren Steel has been charged with the murder of 48 year old Martin Steel and is currently in police custody. Martin Steel’s family said he was ‘a beloved son, father, grandfather, and nephew who will be greatly missed.’

The takeover of St David’s Hall in Cardiff took a step forward as no new names came forward to bid for running the venue. The Academy Music Group which also runs a number of other venues across the city is the only name in the hat, so a draft contract between AMG and St David’s Hall will be published at the end of the month.
