Birmingham City Council have announced the Birmingham Festival 2023 to mark the first anniversary of the Commonwealth Games. Talented Brummie and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has been announced as a patron of the festival - which will take place this summer.
The Cross City Line between Birmingham and Lichfield will be closed during Easter as a rail bridge will be replaced during that time in a £4 million upgrade to the structure. For the works, the old bridge will be completely removed and a new one will be installed.
Roads were closed in Birmingham City Centre after an unknown substance was spilled near the Birmingham Civil Justice Centre on Bull Street. The fire service were able to confirm that the substance identified was not harmful to the public.
