What’s on Wales: Mother’s Day, walking festival and TV show exhibition

Mother’s Day this year will take place on the 19th March, so we’ll be looking at all the great things to be getting up to with the fantastic ladies in your life, this week we’ve got a full day of activities at Castell Coch. Learn all the language of flower arranging and take a tour of the castle, where you’ll find out all about a famous local mother Lady Bute. Taking place on Saturday 18th March, the day before Mothering Sunday.


For those ready to embrace the outdoors, the Crickhowell Walking festival will be taking place from the 4th til the 12th of March, where keen adventurers can take in all the sites that mid-Wales has to offer, with a number of different tours and routes to trek. The festival is a staple of the mid-Wales calendar and attracts people from all across the country.


The Glynn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea is hosting a special His Dark Materials exhibition showing props and costumes from the TV show. Celebrating the highly regarded programme, the exhibition shows some insight into how the world was created here in Wales, with special behind the scenes footage and concept art. Open now until the end of April.
