Cristiano Ronaldo made a young fan's day at his Al-Nassr unveiling as the superstar gifted her a signed football.

The 37-year-old forward was officially unveiled as an Al-Nassr player on Tuesday following his arrival in Saudi Arabia after he agreed toa £ 175 million-a-year contract.

Ronaldo was introduced as 'the world's greatest footballer' in front of 25,000 raucous supporters at Mrsool Park in Riyadh, to a backdrop of fireworks, flares, and strobe lighting.

One particular supporter was greeted with a special gift from the 37-year-old in a touching moment as the Portuguese star signed a football.

He then jogged over to the crowd, pointed towards a particular fan - and threw the ball into her arms.

The supporter could barely believe her luck as she fell over backward before holding up their new prized possession from Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old, whose contract at Old Trafford was terminated in November, has been criticized for quitting the European game and taking the Saudi money.

But at his unveiling, he said: ‘This contract is unique but I’m a unique player, so for me it’s normal. I don’t worry about what people say. I am happy to be here. I am so proud to make a big decision in my life. My work in Europe is done. I won everything. I played for the most important clubs.

‘For me now, it is a new challenge in Asia. I’m grateful that Al Nassr has given me this opportunity to develop not only football but also the young generation, the women’s generation. I want to change the mentality of the new generation.'

The Portugal international also revealed that he had 'many opportunities' to join clubs in Europe and South America, before opting to join his new club.

Ronaldo said: ‘I had many opportunities in Europe and many clubs in Brazil, Australia, USA, and even in Portugal, many clubs tried to sign me. But I gave my word to this club.

‘I know what I want, and I know what I don’t want. For me, it’s a good challenge to change and to help with my knowledge and experience to grow many important points here.'

Ronaldo had hoped to make his debut for his new club on Thursday night, but Sportsmail exclusively revealed how the 37-year-old is banned as he is yet to serve a two-match FA suspension for smashing an Everton fan's phone last season.
