A report on online child sexual exploitation and abuse, based on a survey by Unicef & its partners, had found that in the past year alone, 100,000 internet-using children aged 12 to 17 in Malaysia have been subjected to clear instances of online child sexual exploitation and abuse. This includes but not limited to: being blackmailed to engage in sexual activities, or being coerced to do so through promises of money or gifts; and/or having their sexual images shared without their permission.
