As the nation's skills crisis deepens, a growing number of West Australian women are undertaking apprenticeships to help fill thousands of job vacancies in the mining industry. Nationally, the number of women working across the industry has increased five-fold in 20 years, but there's still a long way to go to achieve a gender balanced workforce.
