Karachi setups the largest cattle market (maweshi mandi) in Asia located at the super high way,which consists of almost 40,000 animals every year for festive of Eid ul Azha. All the arrangements are made almost a month before the Eid ul Azha so that all the buyers can come look for their desired animals.the total area that is covers the cattle market is over 900 acres which consists of 28 block. The blocks are divided into three sections VVIP, VIP and general block.
The VVIP blocks have the animals of renowned cattle farms and the costs of these animals are between 5 million to 30 million approx.
The VIP animals have 16 blocks out of 28 blocks, where the buy and sell took most part in the cattle market businesses. The animals range is between 0.2 million till 1.5 million in these blocks. The VIP block have variety of animals, preferably cows of different cattle farms and are huge in terms of weight and height. The special arrangements are made for these VIP sacrificial animals. Everything from their food to their medication is special and trained staff to take care of these animals is hired of the whole year and before that. The breeds of these animals are Sahiwal breed, cholistani breed,Sibi bhagnari,Red Sindhi, Tharparkar. Available at VIP block cattle farm mainly:
