Chicken chowmein is most likely one of your favourite Chinese takeout options. Chowmein is a traditional Chinese dish that consists of an egg, noodles, and stir-fried vegetables. We like to add protein, and our favourite is chicken, but you can experiment with different meats or tofu. This dish is pan-fried to crisp the noodles, and then tossed in a delicious sauce. Chowmein is ideal for nights when you don't want to dirty too many pans or make too much of a mess in the kitchen. The thick, dark homemade sauce with which the noodles are tossed gives chow mein its distinct flavour. It's the perfect balance of sweet and salty, and it's impossible to put down your chopsticks.
