சீன மோதலில் வீர மரணமடைந்த ராணுவ வீரர் பழனிக்கு ராணுவத்தின் உயரிய விருதான வீர் சக்ரா விருது வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. குடியரசுத்தலைவரிடம் இருந்து வீர் சக்ரா விருதினை பழனியின் மனைவி வானதி பெற்றுக்கொண்டார்.

Palani, who was martyred in the Chinese conflict, has been awarded the Vir Chakra, the Army's highest award. Palani's wife Vanathi received the Vir Chakra award from the President.
