Uttar Pradesh Police has named Union minister Ajay Misra’s son Ashish Misra in its first information report (FIR) in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident which claimed the lives of eight people, including four farmers. The FIR said that Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Ajay Misra’s son was sitting in the car that mowed down protesting farmers.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, who was stopped from visiting the violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri, alleged that she had been arrested illegally. She said that she was arrested “without an FIR copy”.
