Lakhimpur Kheri Case: SC Cancels Ashish Mishra's Bail, Comes Down Heavily On Allahabad HC Order

On April 18, the Supreme Court of India cancelled the bail granted to Ashish Mishra, accused of murdering farmers in Uttar Pradesh last year. Ashish Mishra is the son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni. The apex court has ordered Ashish Mishra to surrender in a week. The Allahabad High Court had granted bail to Ashish Mishra on February 10. This decision was challenged by the families of farmers who were killed on October 3 at Lakhimpur Kheri in UP. Ashish Mishra is accused of running over five people during a protest at Lakhimpur Kheri.
