Navjot Singh Sidhu's resignation as Punjab Congress president has jolted the party's state unit, forcing the high command to convene and resolve the crisis as it gears up for re-election in next year's assembly polls.

Meanwhile, Harish Rawat, the party's general secretary-in-charge, has postponed his visit to Chandigarh.

According to sources, the high command is working on a replacement for Navjot Sidhu and will not appease him any longer.
